EMployee Spotlight:
A Culture of Collaboration and Excellence at gt turning

Welcome to our blog! As part of our commitment to transparency and community, we are thrilled to share stories from our dedicated employees that reflect the core values of our company. Join us as we explore how teamwork, passion, and a commitment to our clients shape the unique culture at GT TURNING.

Meet Darren G.

In the face of adversity, the true spirit of our team shines. During the first year of the pandemic, our employees worked tirelessly to produce gas fittings for oxygen supplies in intensive care units for COVID-19 patients. He recalls,

“Everything was a flurry of activity, rescheduling urgent production, ordering material and coordinating everything to meet the orders. Everyone in the company pulled together to ensure these vital products were delivered as quickly as possible to save lives. The collective effort and sense of purpose was wonderful.”

This experience not only highlights our employees’ dedication but also underscores GT Turnings’ core value of service to the community.

Work Culture & Ethics: Opportunity for Growth

Hear from Dean H., 35 yrs at GT Turning

“Going to Germany to learn about programming and setting up new machines was a game-changer for me,”

At GT Turning, we believe in fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Over the years, staying motivated has been made possible through our valuable clients and the exciting projects they bring. Dean H. elaborates:

"Getting interesting designs and figuring out how to program them with the right tooling to achieve the best results is what keeps me engaged."

Darren further explains how relationships are crucial in our industry:

“In our line of work, service and relationships are key. Maintaining strong and mutually beneficial relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and staff is vital for a successful operation. My daily focus is on getting the best results for customers to meet their needs.”

However, challenges do arise. Darren also shares his experience managing the Quality Assurance system:

“In my early days managing QA, I had the task of overhauling and streamlining a cumbersome system. I found the best way was to start with what the key staff were naturally doing to achieve desired outcomes, based on their experience. By formalizing these approaches into structured procedures, we not only used their knowledge but gave them a sense of ownership of the process.”

Commitment to Career Growth

“One lesson I took from this was the value of letting those who know their job best drive the solutions, rather than trying to impose something that isn’t a good fit.”

“Using the ability to think outside the square and challenge myself is what keeps our work exciting.”

As one of the pioneers of our company, is a strong advocate for ongoing opportunities for development. Dean believes that:

“The company provides growth opportunities whenever needed, which nurtures our collective commitment and enhances overall performance.”

Darren also described the atmosphere at GT Turning:

“One strength of this company is that it feels like a family, where we all have the sense that the company is all of us, not just a big machine that considers us cogs in a machine.”
